BUMS e-Ticket : PONYLAND + Serene - Fri 1st March 2019

Barrow Underground Music Society present PONYLAND + Serene - Fri 1st March 2019

Saddle up with PONYLAND for a ride into a heady, energetic world of live Samba Reggae, Drum ‘n’ Bass, Afro-beat & Jazz, with a 7-piece Cumbrian band.

PONYLAND is made up from professional musicians from across Cumbria and Newcastle, including two drummers and a mighty brass section. Expect a plethora of good vibes, animal masks, grooves that will make your legs move uncontrollably, chaos and authentic energy!

Serene are a psychedelic rock trio based in The Lake District. The band formed at Kendal Music College in 2015 and have subsequently carved their own path, taking the band on an international adventure which keeps getting bigger and better!

Three years on, they have regular spots on the Manchester and Liverpool circuit; The Night and Day Cafe, The Castle, Zombie Shack, The Peer Hat, The Zanzibar, along with the brand new Peaky Blinders Bar (Liverpool). In summer, Serene are often found at a multitude of Lake District festivals, such as Kendal Calling, EskFest, Another Fine Fest, PigFest, MoonFest, Noon til Midnight and Grasmere Guzzler.

In summer 2016 they embarked upon a two week tour of Italy, previewing their new material prior to releasing their debut album - The Lonely Road. This proved a successful adventure, as it gained the band a session with BBC Introducing, along with CumbriaLIVE describing the band as 'one of the finest live acts in the county'. Serene also supported Nazareth on their tour of England in January 2018!

2018 was a promising year with a spot on the Kendal Calling 2018 lineup - alongside bands such as Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Libertines, The Blinders and The Wailers. They also had a large number of bookings in Manchester and Liverpool for 2018, along with a new partnership with Scruff of the Neck Records, Still Frame Media Promotions, along with their first TV session with Liverpool's 'The 2ube'. Serene have also begun to record their freshest material to date, whilst keeping their live performances as regular and exciting as possible!
