About

East Beach Studios has existed as a music production company and recording studio since the early 1990s when owner, Graham 'Gripper' Newby first began working in the professional music industry producing music for independent record labels across the world.

Our involvement with eclectic and cutting edge artists spans a wide spectrum of alternative genres and our clients range from talented local bands to major label international artists. The studio's work has been used in national and international advertising campaigns for the likes of Nike and Kodak, on national TV (BBC1, BBC2, Channel 4) and across countless commercial releases for record labels around the world.

With a client list as diverse as Liverpool Institute Of Performing Arts, KRS-One, Honda Motors Dubai, Mobb Deep and Masters At Work, amongst many others, the output from this small corner of Cumbria is recognised by many.

As well as corporate clients, we pride ourselves on developing the sound for new and inexperienced artists, taking the pressure out of what can seem a daunting process. We have worked extensively with young people, local schools, and community projects where musical development and experience is key, and are proud to operate as a vital resource in the use of music to develop and educate.

The studio's philosophy is simple -  to employ tried and trusted recording methods and mix them with new and innovative tech developments to get the very best from a recording. To represent a piece of music in the way the artist intended. Quality is our passion, and achieving that, whatever the budget, is our goal.

We embrace the latest developments in technology having began making music during  the MIDI revolution of the late 80s and the consequent DAW and digital recording boom of the early 90s. At the same time our love for the warmth and tone of high-end analog equipment means that East Beach Studios can combine the best of both worlds.

As a commercial studio we are entirely flexible, taking any recorded project from conception to market, or just offering our services to record, engineer, produce, mix or master your project at any stage in the game, to whatever extent needed.
